Understand Kohl's Cash Earn and Redemption Periods
During advertised earning periods, Kohl's commonly offers $10 in Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent on qualifying merchandise. The qualifying amount is calculated after applicable coupons and discounts and before tax and shipping.
Promotional Kohl's Cash has separate earning and redemption dates. Spending more just to reach another $50 threshold only makes sense when the additional merchandise was already needed.
Stack Eligible Coupons in the Right Order
Kohl's can combine department-specific offers, dollar-off discounts such as Kohl's Cash, and one eligible sitewide percentage-off coupon in the same purchase. Dollar-off savings are applied before the sitewide percentage discount.
Brand and category exclusions still matter. Sephora at Kohl's merchandise and other excluded products follow separate rules, so the final cart total should be checked before relying on a coupon.

Kohl's can match qualifying competitor prices and eligible Kohls.com prices under its current Price Match policy. Coupons and percentage- or dollar-off discounts cannot be applied to a price-matched item, although Kohl's Cash and Rewards can still be earned and redeemed when eligible.
Kohl's also offers price adjustments when an eligible regular or sale price drops within two weeks of purchase. Clearance, BOGO offers, and certain promotional periods are excluded.
Know the Return Window Before Buying
Most purchases made without a Kohl's Card have a 90-day return window, while eligible purchases made with a Kohl's Card receive 120 days. Premium electronics, watches, Sephora merchandise, mattresses, and some other categories have shorter rules.
Returns can also affect Kohl's Cash that was earned or redeemed on the original transaction, so receipts and account records should be kept until the purchase is settled.
